Bredbury is a busy station sitting between Romiley and Brinnington on the Hope Valley line. The station serves the town of Bredbury, 8 miles south-east of Manchester.
A friends group takes care of the station, working together to maintain the historic building and enhance the passenger experience. The station was originally built in 1875 and the original stationmasters-house survives, although other areas of the station have been updated.
The town sits on the southern slopes of Werneth Low, an outlier of the Pennines, and is surrounded by areas of attractive countryside, both in the river valleys (Tame and Goyt) and on the hills.
