About Brinnington Railway Station

Brinnington railway station is a busy neighbourhood station serving a large estate in this suburban area of Stockport. The station staff and a host of local volunteers are active in keeping the station vibrant, running a very active Swap Shop that serves the local community. The station can also boast having won Cheshire Best Kept Staffed Station Award in 2024 and having been shortlisted for a national award.

The station is within reach of the 161-hectare Reddish Vale County Park, which has cycling and walking paths, bridleways, stunning views and wetlands for birdwatchers. There is a visitor centre in the Mill Lane car park. More details here: Reddish Vale Country Park – Stockport Council

The Brinnington Memorial Garden, around 10 mins walk from the station, opened in 2025 and is in honour of those lost during the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s a calming, attractive place for reflection and learning.
