Hazel Grove railway station has a staffed ticketing office, a car park, and two platforms linked by a footbridge and lifts. (Please note the lifts are only accessible when the ticket office is open. The partnership is actively campaigning to improve this level of service.) The station is a stop on two lines, Stockport to Buxton or Stockport to Stalybridge, making it a useful interchange.
The village of Hazel Grove is bisected by the A6 (connecting Luton with Carlisle) and is 3 miles from Stockport centre. Interesting places to visit near the station include Bramall Hall, a wonderful Tudor manor, while children may enjoy Brookside Miniature Railway at the garden centre in Poynton.
Guides for days out in Stockport, with a Hazel Grove and Stepping Hill guide, are available to download from the One Stockport website: One Stockport: Hazel Grove & Stepping Hill Days Out Guide
Hazel Grove also has a community website which is regularly updated to share information about local events and groups. View it here: Hazel Grove News, Events, Clubs and Business Services
We don’t currently have an active Friends group at this station. If you are interested in getting involved please use the web form on the contact page to get in touch.
