Hyde Central railway station serves the town of Hyde, 6 miles east of Manchester. It is the main station for Hyde, although there is a second one serving the northern part of the town; the other is Hyde North.
The station is on the Hyde Loop with Hyde North and Woodley. All three are cared for by Friends of the Hyde Loop, which organises events and activities as well as working to make the stations look presentable and loved. Hyde is a historical town on the river Tame, close to the edge of the Peak District. The town has a regular market and various community activities, serving as a lively, interesting base for walkers who want to explore the natural delights within reach. Don’t miss Werneth Low Country Park, with its multiple paths and spectacular views. There are scenic towpath walks along the Peak Forest and Ashton Canals, or take a hike up Hartshead Pike.
