Woodley railway station serves the suburb of Stockport of the same name, 9 miles east of Manchester and a stop on the Hope Valley line.
The station is unstaffed and there is step-free access to the platforms. It is cared for by Friends of the Hyde Loop, a group formed to adopt the three stations on the Loop: Woodley, Hyde Central and Hyde North. The group aims to bring people together, meet new friends and organise fun and educational events whilst making the stations look more presentable and loved. If you are interested in joining them, please contact them at friendsofhydeloop@gmail.com.
Woodley is located to the east side of the Peak Forest canal. The area has four pubs that form part of what locals allegedly call ‘the Ring of Death’, a pub crawl that consisted of 20 pubs.
