John has been one of the Community Rail Officers for the South East Manchester Community Rail Partnership since 2021.
He has been involved with the voluntary movement for over 25 years, working for the British Red Cross and, more recently, as a Peer Support Officer for a Stockport-based charity. John also has a number of years experience in transport, previously working as a Transport Policy Officer for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. The role included a short stint as Community Rail Officer, laying the path for him to apply for a permanent role with the South East Manchester CRP in 2021.
Outside of work, John enjoys going to the cinema, fishing or attending any sports events (he’s an avid fan).
